The THEMIS team of the French-Spanish Laboratory for Astrophysics in Canarias (FSLAC) is very happy to welcome its newest member:
Dr. Diaz Castillo obtained her PhD on "Convective plasma-magnetic field interactions in the Quiet Sun revealed by spectropolarimetric diagnostics" in 2025 from the Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg in Germany, working at the Institute of Solar Physics (KIS). Dr. Diaz Castillo has an expertise in spectropolarimetric analysis, machine learning and computer vision in solar physics, in particular regarding the inversion of magnetic field. She has also helped in data acquisition during GREGOR telescope observational campaigns. Dr. Saida Diaz Castillo NASA ADS list of publication. Dr. Diaz Castillo is employed by CNRS to join the THEMIS/FSLAC team in the context of the From Solar Jets to Inner-Heliospheric Switchbacks (JET2SB) project of the Agence Nationale pour la Recherche (contract n° ANR-25-CE31-7416). Dr. Diaz Castillo will be employed until December 2028 in order to carry investigations on the solar source of switchbacks, in particular solar jets, and on the Sun magnetism. |
