| ** IBIS 2.0 is at THEMIS ! ** \\ | \\ |

| In early June, about 800 kg of the [[https://www.ibis20.inaf.it/| Interferometric BIdimensional Spectrometer - IBIS 2.0]], most of its scientific instrumentation and careful packaging has been received at the THEMIS telescope. Since then a dedicated visiting team from different sites of the [[ http://www.inaf.it/en | Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF)]], from Rome, Merate & Trieste, with some help of the THEMIS team, has been hard working in meticulously installing and starting to align all the pieces of this puzzle of optical instrumentation. In the month of June IBIS 2.0 has been slowly but meticulously assembled. IBIS 2.0 will be an outstanding synergic complement of THEMIS long slit spectrograph MTR2, enhancing THEMIS competitiveness in the 1-1.5m solar telescope category, providing new strong scientific capabilities to study the dynamics of the low solar atmosphere. | |

| | Congratulations to our colleague, Dr. Jade Touresse, who successfully defended her doctoral thesis, entitled “Propagation of solar coronal jets toward the inner heliosphere: Investigating a solar origin scenario for switchbacks” on September 11th 2026, and obtained her PhD title in Astronomy & Astrophysics from Sorbonne Université (Paris, France), working at the [[https://lpp.ip-paris.fr/ | Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas]]. During the course of her thesis, Dr. Touresse has been a regular visiting researcher of the THEMIS team of FSLAC, benefiting from travel grants from the French INSU/CNRS. She carried several observational campaigns at THEMIS to study the properties of solar coronal jets, in order to constraint and improve the 3D magnetohydrodynamics simulations that she is developing to understand the physics of the propagation of these active events toward the interplanetary medium. |
